As a worship leader, I\u2019ve experienced first-hand how the church has struggled to balance new and old ways of expressing worship through singing. Our choices and preferences in worship music are vast.<\/p>\n

Whether we sing the treasured hymns<\/a> from earlier generations, use songs written by contemporary writers, or try to combine both styles into the same service, we must always hold true to the unchanging gospel of Jesus Christ. Personally, I think it\u2019s important to not abandon our heritage, but it\u2019s equally important not to ignore new generations. Would you agree that every song was new at some point?<\/p>\n

For this blog I\u2019d like to focus on hymn singing and how hymns have played such a powerful role for centuries in the history of our worship; teaching the basic truths of the gospel and inspiring us to walk closer to God.<\/p>\n

I love it when worshipers tell me about a song that touches them and how it strengthens them in their faith. So, I\u2019d like to hear from you.
